About AJ
AJ, originally from Raleigh, NC, is a current fourth year student studying stage management at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
They value honesty, reliability, humor, and compassion.
AJ forms strong, communicative relationships with fellow collaborators and is always searching for opportunities to grow, both as a stage manager and person. As a leader, AJ prioritizes cultivating a welcoming, empathetic, and helpful stage management team. After spending the past two summers as a stage manager and child guardian at Seagle Festival, a vocal training program, they discovered their love for community; they admire the artists’ and staff members’ dedication to collaboration, growth, and music.
AJ has always wanted a career involving music. They discovered their passion for opera after production assisting their university’s Winter Opera their first year. AJ thrives in fast-paced environments and finds joy in the art itself. Most recently, they served as production stage manager for Die Fledermaus, UNCSA’s Winter Opera.
AJ loves playing guitar, journaling, laughing with friends, and adventures. Last year, AJ spent a week solo hiking the Kerry Way in Ireland, and wants to continue exploring the world; next they want to travel to Austria, where they can immerse themself in nature and music.
